Nottingham to Bristol - 25/11/11 - Nice Weather for Ducks

This is Norma Jean (aka Marilyn Monroe The Duck, aka Laura MacDonald Duck) - Brass Jaw's new groupie, pictured here in the foyer of Colston Hall in Bristol. It's raining, but being a duck, Norma Jean doesn't mind - she's outside now splashing around in the puddles and playing near the air vents.

AND here's the next part of our audience Q&A - some very interesting questions from Penzance and Nottingham...

Cardiff - Dempsey's 22/11/11

We played Dempsey's in Cardiff last night - We always enjoy playing there and are assured of a warm welcome from our friends Alistair & Brenda when we arrive.

An attentive audience was left with little to ask (a good sign?) - only one response to our Q&A :

"How do you manage to get all your gear into one car when you tour?"

Good question, so we thought we'd give you a demonstration in response. Over to The Beauv!

On the way to Penzance now - Paul is trying to assemble a rudimentary pirate costume.

Crawley to Cardiff 22/11/11

We're in Reading Services right now (we invariably seem to end up here). On the way to tonight's gig in Dempsey's in Cardiff where we're looking forward to seeing 'Uncle' Alistair and 'Auntie' Brenda, two of Cardiff's finest champions of jazz.

Had a slight logistical issues with excess bags and lack of car space - now remedied by purchasing a roof box and roof bars which whistle the harmonic series as we accelerate down the M4. Nature, Science Engineering an Music in action...but it's getting a bit annoying now so we're gonna gaffa tape it (look out Beauv!)

Anyway - here's part 3 of our audience Q&A from The Hawth in Crawley

Wakefield Jazz 4/11/11

We always enjoy playing at Wakefield Jazz - big thanks go to Chris De Saraam and the team for continuing such a high standard of programming. Check out their website http://www.wakefieldjazz.org/

Here's the next part of our Q&A with questions from our Wakefield audience :

Newcastle - Lit & Phil - 3/11/11

The tour is underway! We started off with too great gigs - the first in Newcastle's Literary & Philosophical Library (or 'Lit & Phil') and last night at the fantastic Wakefield Jazz Club.

Apart form the slight mishap of a breakdown (vehicular) on the A69 on the way down, we've had a great couple of days.

The Lit & Phil seems like an unusual choice of venue for a jazz gig, but big respect to Paul Bream and Jazz North East for showing such imagination and flexibility as to put us on here. Big thanks also to Chris at the Lit & Phil for being so welcoming and allowing us to roam among his books.

So - if you come to any of our upcoming gigs, you'll get the chance to pose some questions, and have them answered on film, by us. So here we go with the fist batch from Thursday night's gig in Newcastle.
